Dead child discovered in burried in shallow grave - body parts missing
In a suspected case of ritual murder, a Chipinge child was found dead with missing body parts buried in a shallow grave. The body was discovered when two dogs were about to devour the remains.
Police said Juliet Sibanda (32) of Chinyamukwakwa Village under Chief Garahwa was on her way to a borehole when she saw some dogs pulling something that was wrapped in a cloth. She got closer and chased the dogs away before discovering that it was a corpse of a child.
Sibanda reportedly went to inform the village head who then made the police report. The child was found without lower parts of the body. The child's gender is still yet to be established, though he/she is believed to be two years old.
Sources from Police have said it could be a case of ritual murder and are appealing to members of public with information leading to the positive identification of the deceased to contact their nearest police station. The body was taken to St Peters Hospital mortuary in Chisumbanje..
