Suspected sex worker found dead in Epworth

.
A body of a suspected prostitute was found lifeless and half-naked in a sweet potato field at Zinyengere Primary School in Epworth in yesterday’s early hours.
The corpse was in a state of decomposition and mystery still surrounds the death of this woman. The 31-year-old woman was identified as Pretty Musanhi of House No. 2898 Dombo in Epworth. It is alleged that Musanhi left her home last week Thursday headed for the bar where she was believed to be a hooker. The body was discovered by Rogers Gangira and his wife as they were inspecting their maize field.
“I was shocked to see a dead body in my field. I was with my wife who was carrying a sack of sweet potato seed and she almost fainted when she saw the body. I told her not to go near the body and we went to report to the school caretaker,” said Gangira.
“There are women who have small fields here. Early this morning, a woman knocked at my door with her husband and told me that they had discovered a dead woman in their field.
“I went to check and for sure it was there. That is when I immediately informed the police.
We have security guards here but none of them complained,” said the school caretaker, Fungai Marembo. Speculations among residents suggest that Pretty might have been murdered on Sunday night.
The young boys present at the scene said that on Sunday afternoon they played a soccer match and they never came across the dead body which was socked by overnight rains. Robson Banda who is a builder at the school said that, “I think the woman has been lying there for two days.
“It’s raining these days but if it was hot she could have decayed and smelling by now. “What surprises me is that no one heard the woman scream or shout for help. We have not come across anything of this nature here”.
Next to the body, a stick which is suspected to have been used to assault the woman was recovered as well as pink tablets and a pair of jeans.
