Harare prostitute raped at toy gun point
A Harare man with a fetish for ladies of the night was recently arraigned before the courts on three counts of rape and aggravated indecent assault on a self-confessed prostitute.
Allegations are that on June 8 this year, Geoffrey Mafika (39), met the 33-year-old prostitute at Plaza Heights Club along Josiah Chinamano Avenue in Harare in the wee hours of the fateful day.
Mafika asked how much a "short time" of sexual intercourse was and the woman pegged it at $10, with the alleged rapist proposing the act be done at his flat in the Avenues area.
The court heard that on arrival at his Montagu Heights flat, Mafika went straight for the bedroom and produced a toy gun which he used to threaten the woman if she refused to abide by his requests.
Prosecutor Ellaine Mokora alleges Mafika told the hooker to remove all her clothes and perform oral intercourse on him, all the while threatening her with death if she refused.
According to court papers Mafika forced the woman to lie on the bed and raped her three times. Before the alleged rape the woman had asked him to use protection but he refused and even tore the condoms in protest of her request.
It is the state's case that the woman had the back of a knife shoved up her bottom by Mafika. Magistrate Anita Tshuma remanded the alleged offender in custody to June 26 this year.
Tshuma also ordered that he be examined by psychiatric doctors to ascertain his mental status.
