Zimbabwe hitman Nyasha Mushekwi could be heading to England soon with his recent exploits attracting several clubs with English Premiership side Leicester City reportedly chasing the 27-year-old.

Mushekwi, based in Sweden, scored a double in Djurgardens’ 3-2 victory over Halmstad on Monday – his third brace of the campaign.

That performance has also attracted the attention of Netherlands sides FC Groningen and SC Heerenveen, Bundesliga clubs Harmburger SV, FC Augusburg and FC Nurnberg also falling over each other to secure the Zimbabwean hitman.

Mushekwi is on loan to the Swedish side from South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns. Monday’s victory lifted Djurgardens from fourth to the top of the league table with 19 points from nine matches.

The Swedish club though have played one more game than the rest of the teams. IFK Goteborg are on 19th position from eight matches, while Malmo FF are third on 18 points from the same number of matches.

Crucially, Mushekwi leads the goal scoring charts having scored nine goals in nine matches. Norwegian striker Berget has fallen behind on the goal scoring charts with six goals.

Last week the former Caps United striker scored another brace- in his team’s 3-2 win over Atvidaberg, his second since joining the club at the start of the season. His first brace came in Djurgardens’ 3-1 win over Falkenberg.

Mushekwi had been loaned to Belgium side KV Oostende in February last year before picking up a career threatening injury and had appeared to be giving up on his career.
